No relief For Jalandhar Urban Electricity Consumers

No relief has been given to the Urban Paid Consumers of electricity in Jalandhar and else where in Punjab. All promises of refunds , roll backs and abolition of octroi  " CHUNGI " on urban paid consumers have not been kept.

It is blatant vote bank politics where rural land lords ( many of them Multi Crorepatis ) are being given  FREE ELECTRICITY which is being paid ( cross subsidy ) by Paid Urban Consumers ( Some of them humble Landless Shopkeepers ).

Urban Punjabis have been ditched by all political parties,. This discriminatory electricity "JAZIA " is going to be a major issue in forthcoming Assembly elections in Punjab . Fed up with the open exploitation  urban paid consumers are planning to field their independent candidates and launch a " BIJLI SATYAGARHA " on Gandhian lines to seek justice .

Free Electricity Versus Exorbitant Electricity  Charges is , also , against the Fundamental Right To Equality enshrined in The Constitution of India ..

Kashmir : An Issue Only Between India And Pakistan

Jalandhar thinkers are of the view that India and Pakistan are the only two parties in the Kashmir dispute ( as unfinished Agenda of the Partition of 1947 ) and both countries should resolve it among themselves at the earliest.

China has absolutely no locus standii  in the Kashmr dispute. China's dictators are  merely being opportunistic exploiting India 's and Pakistan 's differences . China stabbed India in the back and annexed Aksai Chin in 1962 China has not spared even Pakistan . Apart from annexing parts of Pakistan Kashmir China has defacto taken control of Gilgit etc. under the garb of building a Iran China gas pipeline.

India and Pakistan must resolve Kashmir and  must jointly show the Chinese the way out in Kashmir and Western powers the way out in Afghanistan..

Blank Cheques ( With Financiers ) Scandal in Jalandhar

Jalandhar citizens have expressed their gratitude to the leading newspaper " Dainik Bhaskar  Jalandhar" 's exposure of the manner in which certain gangsters buy unused blank chques from financiers , particularly , those cheques where the borrower has settled the account but was careless not to take back his blank cheques.

These gangsters then misuse the cheques to write the payee's name and amount as per their convenience. After this the cheques are sent foe collection . When they are dishonoured the cheats file false cases in the courts. Many a time the harried ex borrower  pays some amount to such blackmailers.

Mosquito Menance in Jalandhar

Jalandhar residents should take adequate precautions against mosquito breeding. all stagnant water , especially at home in water coolers etc should be removed . Some kerosene oil should be dropped in stagnant water . It forms a thin layer on the surface and inhibits mosquito breeding.

UNO Secretary General is issuing an appeal to the world to help Pakistan where in the recent disastrous floods more than 5 lakh people have been rendered homeless. India is geographically best poised . India should extend maximum possible help in ways acceptable to Pakistan.
