In the year 1710 AD , Baba Banda Singh Bahadur avenged the cruel and inhuman rule of the notorious Wazir of Sirhind.
A brilliant military victory at Chhapper Chiri gave control of Sirhind to Baba Band Bahadur. He established the first ever Sikh empire . Coins were minted in the name of Guru Nanank and Guru Gobind Singh.
Devotees from Jalandhar are going to Sirhind in very large numbers where on 14-05-10 ( Punjab Stat Holiday )the main celebrations would be held.
