Jalandhar-Udhampur Railway Track To Be Electrified

Railway Tracks from Jalandhar to Jammu have been doubled. Now the project is on to electrify the railway lines from Jalandhar to not only Jammu but up to Udhampur.

The electrification of the segment between Jalandhar and Mukerian would be completed in this year.

The railway line between Nangal and Talwara should be constructed at the earliest. From Talwara the line exists up to Mukerian ( built during Pong Dam construction). This would provide an alternative route from Sirhind to Mukerian bye passing Jalandhar.
