Chief Justice of India, Justice K.G. Balakrishanan has highlighted the social evils of female foeticide and drug abuse prevailing in Punjab which is one of the most progressive states of India .These social evils are contradictory to progress. He , also,wants the number of Judges to be increased so that cases are decided speedily. Ideally Judicial Courts should be within 25-30 Km of any litigant.
